The Anchovies of Cadaqués
History, salt-curing tradition and present-day presence. For centuries, anchovies were one of the most representative products of maritime Cadaqués. The fishing of oily fish, salt curing and the preparation of preserves made it possible to make full use of the catch, store it for long periods and transport it far from the village before the arrival of modern refrigeration.
